In this week's message from our series through James, Troy reminds us of what we learn from the first five verses of Chapter 5, that riches can become a problem depending on the manner in which wealth is acquired, the spirit that wealth can potentially produce in the heart, and the way in which the wealth is used. Through this message, we are challenged to do something practical to love our neighbors and be known as the people who love the ones that Jesus loves.

For this week's installment in our series through James, Troy shares the biblical truth that our conflicts take place when our self-interests become our number one priority. This means that to resolve conflicts, we must repent of our sinful selfishness and humble ourselves before God and others.

As Troy points out from this week's Bible passage (James 2:14-26), there are things we believe in intellectually, in our minds, and there are things we believe in emotionally, that stir our hearts, but unless we demonstrate those beliefs through our actions, we don’t actually believe.

Continuing in our series through James, Real Faith in the Real World, Troy reminds us that although the Bible is foundational and critically important in our lives, it’s not enough merely to read it or hear it or even know everything it says. We have to put our faith into practice and actually do what the Bible tells us.
