Do God’s Work With Him
The "Great Commission" is really our "co-mission," as we partner with God and allow Him to work through us. God's mission should be important to us, not only because it's His mission, but also because we need hope and we want every person in the world to come to have hope.

    In Search of Happiness
To refresh us on one of the chapters we read in the Core 52 book, Troy answers the question, "Does God Want You to Be Happy?" While God expects us to obey Him, and His type of happiness may be different than what we think we want, it can also be misleading to say that God desires our obedience more than our happiness. The truth is that obedience to God brings about our happiness.

    Beware the White Van
    Series: Standalone
In this standalone message, Troy explains why God wants us to get rid of the painful anxiety that comes from depending only on ourselves in the midst of life’s difficulties. Instead of self-dependence, we should have such confidence in God that it frees our minds from anxiety. God has designed life in such a way that peace can be the constant experience of every Christ follower, even in the midst of trials.

The Joy of Walking in Someone Else’s Shoes
To conclude our series, Getting Rid of the Gorilla, Troy challenges us to consider the positive results that God produces through our turmoil of living with a wounded, unforgiving heart. It may sound ironic, but it might not be until we’re able to see the really good stuff that comes out of our struggle to forgive that we begin to find the strength to actually do so.

Trust Someone to Know the Real You
In this week's message from our series, Getting Rid of the Gorilla, Troy challenges us to step out, take a risk, and find a spiritual shepherd we trust to help us learn how to forgive. It’s rare to find people who finally got rid of the gorilla, who didn’t also grant someone else access to the interior parts of their souls and allow themselves to be guided to hope and healing.

The Other Person You Can’t Forgive
Returning to our series, Getting Rid of the Gorilla, Troy shares how the person we often have the most difficulty forgiving is the one who's staring back at us in the mirror. As the book's author demonstrates, we cannot authentically forgive anyone until we’ve first forgiven ourselves. Troy encourages us to stop beating ourselves up and to feel good about our lives again. Either the cross was good enough to pay for our sins or it wasn't.

The One Person You Won’t Forgive
As part of our series, Getting Rid of the Gorilla, Troy helps us consider whether or not we're willing to forgive the person who has hurt us deeply. When we show kindness to someone who hurt us, God works for our good through that situation. We should also realize that when someone hurts us, we often forget our own sinfulness. When we focus on our pain and another person’s faults, we can blind ourselves to the reality of our own condition.

Are You a Christian on the Inside?
Continuing in our series, Getting Rid of the Gorilla, Troy asks us to evaluate ourselves to make sure we're really following Jesus, and that our actions are in line with what's inside of our hearts. As the author of the Gorilla book writes, “Before Jesus ever calls you to forgive, He calls you to be His disciple. For some of us, maybe getting rid of the gorilla is not about forgiveness at all but about deciding whether to answer Jesus’ call to discipleship.”

    Debunking the Myths About Forgiveness
Continuing in our message series, Getting Rid of the Gorilla, Troy shares some myths we tend to believe about forgiveness, that can prevent us from forgiving genuinely and completely. In our struggle to forgive, we need to get rid of the myths before we can start talking about real solutions.

Treat People the Way They Were Meant to Be
Of course we need to treat people the way they should be treated, but can we treat them the way they were created, and the way we want them to become, not the way they actually are right now? Can we treat them the way they were meant to be? If so, we can make significant progress in overcoming our struggle to forgive.
